My microwave oven is not clean. I have seen this in several ovens before and the problem was rarely due to some internal fault with the transducer or electronics. Almost always due to interlock switches.
These are the closed rods when the door is closed. The one that is usually corrupted is attached to the opener. This switch takes a lot of action. Every day the door is opened or closed. And the way some people have put these people around the door is shameful.
And the interlock device is more secure. The tool will automatically return to idle unless certain conditions are met. In case of microwave oven, the door is closed or it will not work. It is not a good idea to have many microwaves roaming around the kitchen, this can happen. You don’t want it to happen.
Lets see how microwaves help us in heating and cooking. Microwaves are nothing more than high frequency radio waves. So it happens that the frequency at which the furnace operates causes some interesting material things to happen. To be more precise, the microwave oven can boil water at a sufficient level of power. Most of the foods that are eaten contain a great deal of water. So if you heat water using microwaves, you will also heat food. It is either complete or uncompleted.
There is an alternative view of microwaves and cooking. It has been seen that microwaves simply cause disturbances in the molecular structure of food in general. It causes friction between molecules and friction will cause heat and so we can use microwaves to heat and cook.
Instead of using the microwave in my kitchen, I decided that I needed to go to the rods to remove the spikes and thus determine exactly what was messed up.
With the outer cover lifted I could see two rods that I needed to examine. The first one was an open door. The door was closed. The shutter opens and closes exactly as it should. But the switch cannot be attached to the door to make an internal connection and make this oven inoperable. Using an ohm meter I was able to quickly check both switches and was pretty sure the door opener switch was not making an internal connection and needed to be replaced.
I knew enough about electronics that I could skip this switch and ignore the oven job. But using this oven would put you at some risk. Passing the passage, I took the chance that someone might be working on the stove or the open door. There was also the problem of passing the second crossing as well. Both are closed for the oven to work.
I ordered the correct switch directly from the parts provider online and when it arrived, I installed it and the oven worked as it should.
Some people become football fans. There is a point where it is wiser to replace the appliance than to repair it. Cheap parts are not known. In fact, it has long been my suspicion that artists make a good percentage of their profits from selling parts. They know the parts well and will fail after a given amount of use. It is interesting to always have a good supply of these parts on hand.
This particular exchange cost the greater part of sixty dollars. I was able to go and buy a new oven for under a hundred dollars. It would have been smaller, less wattage and fewer people. In order for this oven to succeed exactly, it would have cost more than two hundred dollars. So for me, this was the wisest thing to do instead of fixing it.
But should I have sent it to the repair shop? That part would have blown up the sixty dollar to sixty dollar plus mark and we haven’t even touched on the labor cost of the replacement switch yet. A conservative estimate would be perhaps forty dollars an hour of labor time. So sixty dollars for the transition plus a certain percentage mark and forty dollars of labor and now we are over a hundred dollars. And yet, weighing the cost, he replaced the oven.
I placed the outer casing in the oven and drove the shell to it using a bag of popcorn. This had tasted strange.
