Top 10 Gel Eyeliners of 2011

Gel eyeliner has become very popular in recent years. In fact, the popularity has increased so dramatically. People who have discovered gel eyeliner and use it on a daily basis tend to use no other type of eyelining product. Can you imagine that? I find gel eyeliner is fabulous because it’s easier to apply and more compliant than any other eyeliner. Although I love pencil and retractable eyeliners, I find that gel liner appeals to me because it allows me to line my eyes perfectly. I have tried a ton of gel eyeliners, so I have decided to narrow down the numerous gel eyeliners in the beauty world today to only the top 10 of 2011.

10. Studio Gear Invincible Gel Cream Eye Color. When it comes to the best gel eyeliner, there are certain qualities so to speak that are generally important. Some of them include long-lasting, pigmented, color payoff, smooth texture, adaptable and easily blendable. The Studio Gear Invincible Gel Cream Eye Color possesses all of these key factors and more, making it one of the best gel eyeliners of the year. The colors are not only flexible, but stunning. Although I love “Onyx” (which is an amazing intense rich black), I do love “Earth” (which is a terrific dark deep brown). You can purchase the Studio Gear Invincible Gel Cream Eye Color at ULTA for just $15. You cannot go wrong with this wonderful addition to Studio Gear.

9. Lancome Ink Artliner. I love the Lancome Ink Artliner because the consistency is smooth. With a little bit of primer, this gel eyeliner was on for hours until I decided to take it off. I loved the fact that it did not smudge nor make a mess. This high-end subsidiary of L’Oreal never fails to disappoint and with this product, they definitely did not let me down. The colors vary. The Lancome Ink Artliner is just $23.50 and is available at your nearest Lancome makeup counter or where Lancome cosmetics are sold. Lancome makeup is great, and this addition only makes me realize they are even more fantastic.

8. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Gel Eyeliner. Estee Lauder has always been a brand of makeup that I have trusted. It is quality, but has managed to make it’s way in the beauty industry by creating some of the best subsidiaries in the world today. Is it really impossible to not trust a product of their’s? Yes, but one thing can be said about the Double Wear Stay-In-Place Gel Eyeliner, it can be trusted. I love this gel eyeliner in “black” (which is an intense black), however; I also like this gel liner in “midnight” (which is a deep, yet dark navy). The colors are really variable yet adaptable and can be worn during the day or night. You can purchase the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Gel Eyeliner at your nearest Estee Lauder counter or where Estee Lauder cosmetics are sold for just $19.50.

7. Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner. When shopping at Dillards in Missoula, Mont., at the mall, I found my way over to the Clinique counter. I never really used Clinique, as I found other brands that piqued my interest more. The sales associated Coco was so generous and talked me into letting her give me a makeover, so I obliged. She applied this gel eyeliner to my eyes. I was so impressed with this product for so many reasons, on so many wavelengths, that I bought Clinique’s Brush-On Cream Liner instantaneously. It is not only long-lasting, but pigmented. The color payoff that is generated is also marvelous. Of course, as much as I am drawn to other shades, I bought this product in black. For just $15, the Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner can be yours today. It is available at your nearest Clinique counter or where Clinique cosmetics are sold.

6. Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner. Searching for a great gel eyeliner can be extremely tricky, especially when the demand nowadays is huge and the beauty world is massive. The great news is, Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner is fantastic. Not only is it pigmented (as any good, quality gel eyeliner should be) but it delivers a color payoff that is just incredible. The colors are quite flexible. I love to use this product in “Midnight Black” (which is dark, yet deep black). It is only $22. The Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner is available at Sephora or any retailer where Smashbox cosmetics are sold.

5. Inglot Matte AMC Eyeliner Gel. I first discovered this underrated makeup line when visiting MakeupTalk.com. After contemplating the idea of trying a makeup line that I never heard of, I decided to test it. One of the very first products I bought was Inglot’s Matte AMC Eyeliner Gel. I love this gel liner because it is long-lasting and incredibly pigmented. The color payoff is divine. The colors are separated by numbers. “77” is Black, which tends to be the most common color. “90” is a beautiful dark brown matte. There are 20 shades, which makes this product incredibly diverse. The Inglot Matte AMC Eyeliner gel is just $12. For more information about Inglot’s Matte AMC Eyeliner Gel, simply visit InglotUSA.com today.

4. MAC Fluidline. Some of the best beauty essentials exist right in front of your eyes. It is a well known fact that MAC is one of the most popular makeup brands in the world. There are several reasons why. One of those reasons is their gel eyeliner, MAC Fluidline. Out of the many gel eyeliner products in the world today, there are only few that possess real quality factors that make them so brilliant. Not only is MAC’s Fluidline long-lasting, they are so pigmented. The color payoff is fantastic. My favorite shades are “Blitz & Glitz” (which is a stunning intense black with gold pearl) and “Blacktrack” (which is a gorgeous solid black). MAC Fluidline is available at your nearest MAC counter or the official website for only $15.

3. Cle de Peau Beaute Intensifying Cream Eyeliner. When shopping at Sak’s 5th Avenue in Pittsburgh, I had the opportunity to discover this fabulous addition to Cle de Peau Beaute. I rarely use the word “incredible” to describe a beauty product, but that is going to change right now. This product is incredible, not to mention outstanding. It is clearly one of the best gel eyeliners of 2011. Not only does this product produce a color payoff that is pigmented and colorful, it is long-lasting. I literally went swimming after I used it and guess what? The liner was still on my eyes the way it was before I went. If the price were not so high, this gel eyeliner would be No.1. “101 Deep Black” (which is an intense, yet deep black) is absolutely outstanding. The Cle de Peau Beaute Intensifying Cream Eyeliner is available anywhere Cle de Peau Beaute cosmetics are sold. This eyeliner product retails for $60, making it a luxury item.

2. Make Up For Ever Aqua Creamliner. Searching for a good, quality, yet elite gel eyeliner can be more complicated than searching for Mr. Right on the world wide web. Although, it may seem impossible, believe it or not it does exist. Especially in the case of this gel eyeliner. If you are looking to use a gel eyeliner that creates a color payoff that is pigmented and long-lasting, you are going to love Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Creamliner. The colors are great and tend to emphasize most on matte finishes rather than any other finish, making them incredibly natural. The shade “Matte Black 1” is my favorite. Although it is black, it also has a rather dark gray reflection, making it a softer black. For only $20, you can buy Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Creamliner at Sephora or your nearest Make Up For Ever retailer.

…and the No.1 gel eyeliner of 2011 is …

*drum roll*

1. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. Every year, I always say that I am going to start using another gel liner, as I always tend to use Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. But despite trying several great gel eyeliners, none of them tend to be as good as Bobbi Brown’s in terms of quality. Not only is this product long-lasting and pigmented, producing a color payoff that is exquisite, but this Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner is also fade and crease proof. The colors are extremely flexible, as most can be worn at any time of day. “Black Ink” (which is a stunning jet black) tends to be my favorite shade, but I have a huge affinity for “Caviar Ink” (which is a vibrant, yet dazzling dark black brown) and “Graphite Shimmer Ink” (which is an amazing dark gray). The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner is $21 and can be purchased at your nearest Sephora or Bobbi Brown makeup counter. You can also purchase this eyeliner anywhere Bobbi Brown cosmetics are sold.
