Top 10 Reasons Why College Athletes Should Not Be Paid

Does this discussion never get old?

Every year people cry and complain that college athletes are “compensated” for their work on the field. We hear that athletes generate money college should get money for the university. Maybe we should pay high school athletes too, they generate money. College athletes at major universities are not afforded transportation, tuition or team facilities. Should the school give them a free ride on top of that? Perhaps not.

So here are the top 10 reasons college athletes shouldn’t pay:

10. Contract disputes

Do you think 30 year old NFL fans complain a lot? You haven’t seen anything yet.

Signing bonuses, multi-year deals, and salary would be permanent without settlement. Imagine a player not being able to leave college because he is under contract? Controversy around the age of 18-22 born with contracts and effects would be a game in itself.

9. It sends bad news

Is this what elementary and middle school students want to see? As soon as they saw that, they would demand pay at the high school level. The message College Sports should be sent is “it’s ok to support more money and it’s ok to pay so much. but not athletes others.” Every kid will grow up wanting to join the football team regardless of talent.

8. There will be no comparison

If college football (read) pays its athletes, it won’t last.

The recruiting process would no longer be. It would result in one dominant conference for each game and about two full hands of dominant teams. Smaller schools in smaller markets cannot compete with large universities resulting in the loss of many schools’ programs.

7. What level or division is the goal?

Most people favor “college athlete pay” by dividing the group by paying one to the athletes.

Why not divide the two and three athletes? Do I see female-athletes well paid? than community college athletes. You cannot give something, but not everything, because that would be hypocritical. All groups generate their income.

6. That’s not what college is about

College service providers is provided by each state. College athletes are not professionals and therefore do not get paid. The purpose of going to college is to get training that you can use later. That’s what the game offers. Athletes play at the college level and use their experience at the professional level where they will be paid, just like everyone else.

5. What about school athletes?

“College athletes are supposed to be performing because they generate money for the schools.”

We constantly hear this argument that if so, it is a high school athlete. I’ll just say now and clarify, I don’t believe high school athletes are guaranteed, we’re debunking their theory. There are thousands of high schools that depend on an athletic program for swimming.

4. Who is to pay for everything?

I’m not an economist, but it’s pretty common sense that if college athletes get paid, costs will go up.

Football fans will be especially proud of their popularity. So the question is, how much? If you’re a college student at a major university and you’re not an athlete, odds are your tuition will go through the roof.

3. Others do not pay well

Here he returns to No. 6, concerning the process of the college.

The supply of college students countries is not paid for the daily contribution. That is the most important thing. Many others must first start out as a non-salaried employee in order to jump start their career. Why should we welcome athletes?

2. What athletes pay?

This is the biggest difficulty of all and would cause many college complaints.

If the football team gets paid, why not the tennis or equestrian team? They are also athletes right? What about golf players, they are all there in athletic scholarship. How about the chess team as well. And who can forget about rowing horses? Are female athletes okay?

It will never fail because you have opened pandoras box. When you pay for one athletic program, you must pay for everything.

1. Now the reward

major colleges provide the best services to their student athletes.

Athletes are not of the same reason as other students. The biggest universities give athletes the best gymsgyms to workout in, free health insurance for injuries, transportation, food, equipment and most importantly tuition .

That is in itself for three to four years. Can’t college athletes be afforded such services rather than affording a salary? I do not think.
