If you are new to the area, just can’t find the right barber, or want to try something new, then maybe there is help. Hoboken, New Jersey has a high concentration of bars, restaurants, cars, and yes….even barber shops. Not one person has the time to try them all so here are the top 5 barber shops in, Hoboken, New Jersey.
Number five is”1st Street Barber Shop” located at 55 1st st., Hoboken, NJ 07030. The decor of the place was great. Very much like stepping into a barber shop in the 1940’s or 50’s. The staff is very friendly and talented but they seem to be more stylists than barbers, which is not what some men are looking for.The hours are good but the price is a little steep at $18. A nice experience but if it’s a simple haircut your after maybe it’s not for you.
Number four would be Supercuts located at 425 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ 07030. As far as aesthetics, Supercuts is a chain that upon entering it has a very generic and cookie cutter feel to the store. I’ve gone there several times and the staff can be hit or miss. They always do a decent job but the demeanor is sometimes lacking. The price is very reasonable at $16 and there hours are even better. Mon.-Fri. 9am to 9pm. Sat. 8am to 8pm. Sun. 10am to 6 pm. Overall a decent experience.
Number three is “Downtown Buzz Cuts” at 212 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ 07030. Very lively atmosphere, almost at times it can feel like you are at a dance club. Sometimes the music is a little too loud which can make the people raise their voice to be heard. The decor is bright and fun and the staff is even better. At $16 a cut the price is right, and always a quality job done by the friendly staff. The hours are very accommodating as well; Mon-Fri 10am to 8pm. Sat 9am to 5pm. but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays. The staff always does a very good job.
Number two is “Bang-Z Salon”, located at 612 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ 07030. The hours are Mon-Thurs 10am to 9pm. Fri 10am to 8pm. Sat 9am to 7pm. and Sun 11am to 5pm. A very professional and courteous attitude exhibited by the staff. The employees haircutting skills are hard to beat. The price is middle of the road and reasonable and the decor is great. You will never wait long and it’s always a pleasant experience.
Coming in at number one is “Uptown Buzz Cuts” at 109 14th st. Hoboken, NJ 07030. The decor, pricing and hours are the same as the downtown location. The atmosphere is still fun but a little more subdued. The staff is always amazing and the haircut is always done to perfection and exactly as you had asked for it. Hats off to them for always coming through with a job well done.
As far as transportation to these barbershops in this mile square city of Hoboken, NJ, driving is not always the best means of reaching these destinations due to the parking situation, although there are municipal lots. Street spots for non-residents are hard to come by. There are buses that come from NYC and parts of New jersey that travel through Hoboken and end up at the Lackawanna Path Station which is a major transportation hub. The afore mentioned buses, NJ Transit trains and the Path train all stop here as well as there being a cab stand. This would be your best bet to visit these locations.
