Top Ten Fireflight Songs

Fireflight is one of those bands that makes their audience listen to the lyrics as well as the music. Fireflight has quickly become one of my favorite bands. The vocals always are in tune with the music meaning the have the same tone, whereas some bands don’t have that and audiences or rather I am left wondering what the real tone for the song is supposed to be. Fireflight has many songs that reach out their listeners and sometimes can have the ability to change lives. Here are some of my top favorite songs by this amazing band.

You Gave Me a Promise: You Gave Me a Promise has beautiful lyrics and vocals. Time will heal this heart: so simple yet powerful lyrics about being heartbroken to broken promises and the hope of God’s promise for our lives. Pushing through the daily struggles of life to fulfill God’s promise. Even though sometimes it seems out of our reach.

It’s You: This song has made me get up and dance when I have felt at my lowest. The world tries to take a piece of us, tries to tear us down through struggles, heartache or whatever else, but we have the hope of God carrying us through. It’s God that we can turn to when there is no where else we can turn. When it seems like there is nothing left inside of us, God is there giving us his light and hope to live for.

More Than A Love Song: Sometimes in life we need more than a love song to help us through life. Some love songs makes things seem easier than they are and we need more than what earthly things can provide us. God can see beyond the smiles we try to hide, He can hear us crying out to him through our pains even if no one else sees. Sometimes we long to belong somewhere and the “romantic” view of life doesn’t give us the sense of belonging that God does.

Forever: I think this one is my favorite of their songs. It speaks so much to me and there are times when I feel like it is talking about me. When I feel like I have been stuck I can hear God’s voice speaking to me, telling me that He is watching over me. Forever God is there when everything else seems to fade away. It tells me that no matter what I have God at my side even if my hope does fade and I catch myself walking away from Him when He calls out to me.

Wrapped In Your Arms: This is another one that tends to help me feel better when I am on the verge of tears. When wrapped in God’s arms I feel safe and know that He will never leave my side. It’s a song that declares surrendering oneself to God and staying wrapped in God’s arm throughout life no matter what we could be going through. When we are in God’s arms it feels like we are home were we belong. This is one song that speaks volumes to me.

Touch The Sky: This one sounds a little bit different than the other ones vocally and music wise. We all want to be lifted up when we seem like we are against the wall. God is there to lift us up to the sky and above all our struggles. Touch the Sky talks about the things God does in our lives and that there is nothing that he cannot do. It talks about living our lives for God and knowing that He lifts up high to touch the sky and overcome all that life throws at us.

New Perspective: This is a good song that gets you bobbing your head to the music. Her vocals are amazing in this song. When I listen to it I think of how when I struggle and overcome the struggle I get a new perspective on things in life. I see things in a different light. That could also be how it is when someone accepts Christ for the first time, standing on the ashes of a former lifestyle and a new perspective on how to live life and how to reach out during those struggles.

Desperate: Another fast paced one and makes you bob your head along and sing on the top of your lungs in the car. The lines I like the most are “would you give me a sign, reel me in before I fallen in line” and “you’ve put me on a path I don’t understand.” Too often we don’t understand the path that God has put us on and need God to give us a sign that he is there guiding us through the path. It’s a wonderful song that says so much with in it.

Brand New Day: This one starts out slow and has soft vocals to start with, but as she sings you can hear the music preparing to increase. I love that aspect of the song. It talks of a brand new day with God who guides us when we are blind and gives us light when the world seems to be so dark. When we hear God’s voice it seems like everything fades away. Sometimes its like we wake up one day and everything seems so new, a brand new day after letting go of things that tend to pull us down.

Fire In My Eyes: This one starts with powerful lyrics and music. When it starts it almost explodes with music which I like. A lot of what the lyrics say in this one is how I have felt at times, lock up in a room without a door or windows and God broke through and there is a fire within me now because of that. I think the best lyrics in this song are “I know you are the reason I breathe.” For many of u s God is the reason we wake up each morning, the reason we feel alive even if everything seems to be crashing in on us.

Fireflight is one of Christian music’s best bands. One that I would love to see in concert. I was looking for a band with great female vocals and Fireflight is that band. A lot of their songs makes at least me think about my walk with God and how He has influenced my life.
