I detest getting kitchen appliances as gifts. I realize that my family and friends don’t want to risk purchasing clothing for me. Half the time, I’m not even sure what size I am at any given moment. However, there is one sure-fire gift anyone can buy for me and know that I’ll be happy: Jewelry. With that in mind, here are my top ten suggestions for your woman who loves jewelry.
#1 – Yesterday/Today/Tomorrow Jewelry
Although the theme of yesterday/today/tomorrow was originally a ploy to sell more diamonds, the theme resonates with many women. Who doesn’t want to be told “I loved you yesterday; I love you today; and I’ll love you even more tomorrow?” The sentiment is timeless. It isn’t necessary to purchase real diamonds for this piece. There are many excellent man-made stones that will fit the bill. It is the sentiment here that counts.
#2 – Circle of Life Jewelry
When America’s favorite talk show host started wearing a pendant featuring the first letter of her name, it quickly became a “must have” piece of jewelry. A savvy jewelry industry began mass-producing necklaces and earrings in the “circle of life” format. The rest, as they say, is history. The “O” is done in diamonds, CZ’s, crystals, and a myriad of gemstones. Think about purchasing one in the stone that represents the month in which you met or were married.
#3 – Tennis Bracelet
Ever since that famous tennis player stopped a championship match to search for her bracelet on the court, the “tennis” bracelet has been a favorite of just about every woman. They come in a myriad of metals, shapes, sizes, and stones and no matter what the medium, most women love them.
#4 – Diamond Stud Earrings
Every woman yearns for diamonds. We are suckers for that stone. However, I realize that not everyone can afford expensive diamond jewelry, but there is always the diamond stud. These can be purchased in sterling silver or vermeil (gold bonded over silver). Also, don’t forget about those diamond simulants because you can purchase a much bigger stone for a lot less money.
#5 – A Watch – –
– – or two or three. A lot of women collect watches so that they can match them to their clothing. After all, variety is the spice of life.
#6 – The Journey Pendant
The newest jewelry trend, the journey pendant, is currently made primarily in gold with real gemstones; mostly diamonds. They feature a curved link of stones done in a string down the neck. Some are made to allow you to add stones while others are molded with a specific number of stones that cannot be changed. Eventually, I’m certain that more simulants will jump into this trend as well.
#7 – Inside/Outside Hoop Earrings
A few years back a clever jeweler figured out a way to put stones on the inside as well as the outside of hoop earrings. It was a brilliant idea. That way, women know that their jewel of choice is showing both coming and going. It is a trend that stuck. Inside/outside hoop earrings have become a staple in a jewelry wardrobe. It really doesn’t matter what they are made of (as long as your lady isn’t allergic), they are certain to be a hit.
#8 – Anything with a Heart
Women tend to be very sentimental. For that reason, any jewelry that sparks of sentiment is perfect. Hearts fit the bill and they can be found in a variety of stones and metals; in all sizes and price ranges.
#9 – Toe Rings
I’ll admit that I’m not a big fan of this jewelry trend. However, a lot of women are. With the proliferation of today’s open toed shoes, I can understand why women like them. This is not a place, however, to purchase cheap metal. Spring for real gold here, with or without stones.
#10 – Religious Jewelry
A lot of women like to display their faith in jewelry. I know that I do. Crosses and stars of David, etc. are now available in a variety of metal and stone choices and in
