UFC 105: Randy Couture Vs Brandon Vera

One of the UFC’s most beloved fighters of all time steps into the octagon against one of MMA’s most exciting up & coming up for UFC 105 as the main event on Sat November 14. Between these symbiosis, UFC 105 will be shown for free on SpikeTV from the M.E.N Arena in Manchester, England.

Contura is coming off a 46-game losing streak to Antonio Rodrigo “Minotaur” Nogueira after a three-round battle. Despite his fit and taking the distance from the Minotaur, Couture’s fate was sealed in everyone’s opinion. The wrestler is a world watcher. The striking, grappling, and conditioning of a man half his age favors Couture greatly in his upcoming fight with Vera. For the first time in three years, Couture makes a bid for the light heavyweight title. This will be the 6th championship for “America’s Leader”. But before his face he has “Truth.”

Vera, fighting from San Diego, brings dangerous kicks, lethal knees and elbows, and excellent ground fighting to the cage. Like so many young fighters, Couture is considered a hero and looks forward to UFC 105 as a kid getting to crush Christmas, Easter and summer all at once. Flying high 2 wins (UD, UFC 102 vs. He fights to the top of the pile, where he hopes to face current division champion Lyoto (Dragon) Machida (Undefeated, UD, UFC 104 vs. Shogun)

My prediction:
Vera by Stoppage, R2

In an exciting co-main event, British hometown hero Michael “Count” Bisping will take the cage against fellow middleweight contender Dennis Kang.

Bisping is known as a stand-up artist. He easily adapts to any situation or adversary of eloquence, and never fails to be fit and ready to step into the space. Coming off a loss to Dan Henderson (KO, UFC 100, 7/11/09), Bisping looks to get back on track and put himself in contention for the title.

Kang, of Montreal, is coming off a win over Xavier Foupa-Pokam (UD, UFC 97, 4/18/09) and matches Bisping well in striking and conditioning. It promises to be a memorable fight. Kang’s MMA history is short but balanced, losing his first fight via submission to Alan Belcher (UFC 93 1/17/09 R2).

My prediction:
Bisping by split decision
