United States Final Olympic Medal Count

A lot of success was found by Team U.S.A. at the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China, and it was just relegated to a single sport. The United States won medals in baketball, track & field, swimming, baseball, and even BMX racing along the way to winning a total of 110 Medals. It was interesting to note that the U.S. had 53 medals taken home by men and men’s teams as well as 53 medals taken home by women and women’s teams. An additional 4 medals were taken home by mixed teams, to bring the total up to 110. 36 of those medals were Gold, 38 were Silver, and 36 were Bronze. The United States finished first overall in total medals, second in Gold (to China’s 51), and first in both Silver and Bronze Medals.

The following is a list of those people who won Olympic Medals for the United States, which sports they were in, and what types of medals were brought home during the competitions.
