  • You can reach the Vatican from anywhere in Rome by taxi, bus or on foot. The #64 bus goes from Central Rome to the southern end of the Vatican.
  • Allow at least half a day to see the museum, and preferably a full day if you are very interested in history and want to look at the artifacts in depth.
  • It is a good idea to take cash with you, as card services do not accept credit.
  • If you are a student, bring a valid ID card to receive the reduced student rate upon admission.
  • Your details should be required at the door.
  • Inside the Sistine Chapel, complete silence must be maintained and no photographs are allowed. They are the guardians of the surroundings to demand these rules.
