Recently, my son has been spitting up a little for one month. We went out and bought a “cheap” formula with added rice starch since I really don’t like giving her Gerber rice cereal in her bottles. We decided to buy a 32oz can of Enfamil AR Lipil For Babies Who Spit Often. It can cost over $24.00 at Wal-Mart, but luckily I had a $7-off coupon!
I cannot understand why the cost of this formula is so high. The only reason I bought it is because Similac’s new Sensitive RS formula bottles cost about $6 and my son takes about one each day. I just thought it would be better to buy an Enfamil AR even though it still costs an arm and a leg. It’s very funny that formula costs so much – how do babies eat if their parents can’t afford their food? Give us a break!
Preparation
Use one level for every 2oz cup of water. Shake it off. you are done Easy enough. That is until you see how clumpy the stuff is! It is so thick that it sticks to the insides of the bottle and even the fern on the nipple!
Astio
We had a very difficult time feeding our son this formula! Again, it is so thick that it sticks to the nipple. We have tried to open the nipples and buy new ones, but there are still problems when trying to feed our son. It is so frustrating for us and our baby.
Also, the stuff is so fluffy! I have never seen this foamy formula before in my life. There is usually at least 2oz of extra pure foam in their bottles after we shake them in preparation! When the bottle feeding has reached the end, nothing but tons of foam remains and it stops. suck it up because it’s hard to see where the actual formula ends and where the endless foam begins!
Does He Know?
So after all those messy, annoying, tough issues, and foam problems, you’d think that spit would at least help, right? Hardly! Our son is still spitting up about the same as before we started using Enfamil AR Lipil For Babies Who Spit Often. Plus now it’s spitting out tiny flakes, which is probably because the formula is so thick and doesn’t blend properly in the first place. Trust me, I shake the helium out of the bottles when I make them!
Note the end
Let me just say, Enfamil Lipil regular formula was great for our son before he started having real problems. It’s the stuff with rice starch that I don’t like too much!
