USHER Introduces New Group, ONE CHANCE

For Courtney, Jon, Michael and Rob, One Chance is the perfect name for a foursome that has invested heart and soul in their musical dreams and is now almost ready to taste the fruits of their labor.

“This name really suits us,” said Jon Gordon, 22. “One Chance means we only have one life, this is our one dream and we only got one time to do it. We feel like all we need is one chance. For us people they hear and love us.

These four Chicago natives, bound together by their love of music, met six years ago and overcame all the obstacles that stood in their way to success. After a few detours and more than a few road trips, the Latins collide with the biggest R&B; a superstar in the world and, much to his delight, he loved what he saw. “We got a chance to see Usher,” Jon recalls. “He could tell that we were already polished. We had worked so long and had to be shown on stage because we were chosen by Usher over several other works that were shown for him and his staff day”

Under Usher’s tutelage, he quickly achieved the task of developing the Case as carefully as Usher alone could. After countless speeches and vocal training, the group presented more details in both the shout [#?] and the show stage. Near & It is possible to compare the tour and the legion of fans. The multi-platinum, Grammy-winning artist said he saw reflections in the group. “As an artist, I know what it means to be happy,” Usher says. “I know what it takes to make a mark and have longevity. I had no doubt these guys had what it takes to not only live up to the great R&B legends of the past, but to have the same respect and longevity that many of those greats still enjoy today.

There’s no doubt that One Chance is the next in a long line of great R&B; male group “We got a mean swagger,” says 23-year-old Courtney Vantrease, describing the group’s uniqueness. It’s a Chicago swagger but it’s true and real I remember you from the previous group, like a little You might remember from Jodeci and Boyz 2 Men.

Jon adds, “One thing that will set us apart from other groups is that most of them want something. Some of them can dance but they are not the ones who have a strong voice or maybe they can sing but they are not solid hosts but with this group we cover the whole spectrum. No Let’s try to be something we’re not.

Hearing them sing ‘for real’ is the treat audiences get when they listen to any of their songs on the band’s debut CD.

The company introduced the unique “Look at Her” featuring D4L Fabo, a new style of Snap & B. “We were looking for something new,” explains Courtney. “I think we’re probably the first group to do it. The vibe was really strong so we just decided to incorporate some R&B into it. It’s just about giving people something fresh.” Produced by Star Chocolata and Soundz, the song depicts the conspired club scene and a group of men looking for a unique lady who captivated them with her sexy dance moves.

while the insurmountable Snap& B’s resurgence of sound on the single “U Can’t”, featuring Young Joc and produced by Drummer Boy, is the beautiful Mr. Bangladesh-ballad “Motion” that showcases the group’s vocal performances. Notes member Rob Brent, 21, “I think it’s one of our strongest songs and shows the band’s versatility.” Adds Jon, “The song is about a guy whose girl is going to leave and he doesn’t know what to do, he runs after her and becomes very emotional.”

The group’s music creates different nuances. The songs alternate between bright and funny and dark and sad. “We have some really clear voices. We have two recordings, but it’s mostly an album. They feel young. Adds Mic’s brother Jon , 23, “Some poems address situations that young people perform in relationships and in life in general.”

Just as the songs are made up of styles and emotions, the personalities of the band members and the characters all have bases. “Rob is a young guy with non-stop dancing, popping and locking up the whole scene,” Jon offers. It has a spunk and a voice that sounds like an auto-tune in it. This is a guy who wants to riff and run you down the road.”

“Jon’s the speaker of the group,” says Courtney. “Gerulus is the one who keeps everything together. He keeps our business tight, practices and is the improviser on stage and the one in the group who has the most hop hop taste.

“The court is quiet, gentle guest,” chimed in Rob. “He’s young, but he’s grown up and a little shy. Out of all of us, he has a look that can go either way.” “And Mic is a little shy, run away dude,” notes Courtney. “Mic is the one who will take his shirt off on stage and hit. He’s like Jekyll and Hyde.”

The mutual love and respect that the members of the United States have for each other has been greatly tested at certain times over the years, and has often been found to pursue one opportunity of transgression after another. “It’s been really rough,” recalls Courtney. We left home, sold CDs, rented a van in New York and drove to different record labels. We all stayed in one hotel room or when we don’t have enough money, we all slept in the first part. “The intrepid group packed into the Gordian brothers’ not-so-faithful van and headed to Atlanta for Usher’s show.” Even after all the running and driving we took it upon ourselves to drive to Atlanta where we slept. alone in a cold studio, every day without eating. It was a struggle but we have to say, it was a blessing and it allows us to appreciate everything that is coming to us even more.”

The rest of the group shares John’s philosophical perspective: “The struggles we have done in the past have prepared us for the struggles to come,” says Mic. “Throughout everything we didn’t quit. We stayed together. We used to sit in the studio on the bed, lying next to the chair with our legs propped up. Not many people came. This far.

And maybe it’s more than you’re ready to take.
