Viacom and MTV Networks Jump the Shark with Nickmom Programming Scam

October 1, 2012.

A day that will live in infamy with millions of parents and children in the United States of America. Was it a terrorist attack? No. Was it a terrible accident that cost countless lives? No. Was it a completely preventable television tragedy that unfolded on a children’s network? Absolutely.

Nick Jr., a channel that is on digital-cable, Dish Network, DirecTV decided to post what can only be considered commercial suicide gutting its prime time slot programming in favor of adult themes and reality programming geared towards moms across our great land.

So, Nickmom introduced viewers to a terrible time for kids across the country, where time zones don’t seem to matter much to the TV wizards of MTV Networks. Not only does Nick Jr. not have a west coast feed, but the kids who are watching either can’t be thought of or bend their day into the Central/Mountain/Pacific time zones, let alone those who live in Hawaii or Alaska. who receive this visual gem to them at 4 O’Clock in the afternoon.

But this is hardly outrageous when you consider that this is the same network that decided it wasn’t good enough to only air music videos concerts, and managed to invest in developing musical talent, the latest songs and videos from artists of the past, present and future? Yes, I’m talking about MTV, whose network it controls the family that played a hand in this kiddie disaster under the Viacom umbrella.

It’s not shocking considering the history of the appalling, insulting, uninformed, and offensive programming they’ve given public viewing over the decades.

It was MTV that had viewers hooked in the form of 24/7/365 music videos all day and night. Do you think I’m kidding? I grew the network, which was their motto. Just hit YouTube and watch some of their old promos and bumper ads that the network aired all day.

Suddenly MTV decided to explore music and artists’ entire relationships that have already been achieved it just doesn’t work a time when they could make much more money in original programming business. Whether it is the introduction of the classic board games show “Remote Control” or the introduction of reality television with “The Real World: New York“, MTV figured to strike something that people wanted more and write about the public after they were addicted to the form of finding new music or videos from their favorite artists and directly to the commercial radio, then making a connection with them and playing what was being played in heavy rotation instead of the other way around.

The video actually killed the radio star.

MTV had already figured out that enough viewers were upset for 8 or 9 years why they should act on that plan which were placed in the boardrooms of the previous year? Whether it is in progressive politics, the left-leaning “Rock> The. Vote “, a pro-homosexual proposal with countless specials on homosexual men and women, sacrifices them and then glorifies them as discrete people who were endless targets for the Masses.

While the argument can be made, discrimination against all people of color, gender, and different religions and beliefs… The music video channel is really a place for that indoctrination that we and the young people they target should talk, think, and watch. and into society?

On any given day, a gay or bisexual man can be seen struggling on a show like “Real Life” and then in an orgy like scene in any of those “Real World” scenes. i>» or something else shows. The network then allocated more funding to the project by starting the network “Logo“, an all-gay channel with programming for the LGBT community.

In 2010, a study by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Harassment found that 207.5 hours of prime time programming on MTV, 42%, included content on the lives of gay, bisexual and transgender people. This is the highest energy and highest ever.

Do you have a lot to do?

There was not one bit of room for anyone to be their own on any MTV Networks channel. Whether it was “Home Style” telling you what it was and how cool it was to use “Loveline” following the career of the now famous TV doc Dr. Drew with his advice on sex and love with Adam Corrola “Punk’d,” “Ashlee Simpson Show,” “Beavis and Butthead,” ” Daria ” ” Tila Tequila,” “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF,” “Jackass,” “Viva La Bam,” “Skins,” “The Osbournes,” “Newlyweds: Jessica and Nick,” “Wondershowzen,” ” The Mountains ,” “My Super Sweet 16,” “16 and Pregnantt,” “Teen Mom,” and How We Always Are stop popular jugglers. “Jersey Shore?”

Just scratching the surface from here. Remember, this is a network that is raising your children on their various channels. The difference is refreshing about Nick Jr. for a long time they had nothing else to do but to learn at home and getting a leap in their education at a young age without all the dirt, that the reservoir morphs into what happens for the first time with Nickmom.

They have pushed what can only be called a socialized globalist programming bug into the mind of the average teenager that is not original American cool. Opinions don’t matter MTV Networks and sad parents and kids Nick Jr. the generation of 2012 are learning what VH1 viewers learned in the late 1990s.

With their network of all the music videos then also transformed into one giant reality show full of no or hardly any love life or better still lacking, a wonderful insight was created in movies that have nothing to do with music, and videos among documentaries will be seen in.

Follow the money.

MTV Networks and Viacom generally can’t help themselves. They look at the numbers and really believe that if there is a lot of viewers on the channel, then it gives permission to go in and change the whole identity of the channel because they have people on their channel on a daily or regular basis anyway. Obtuse … hooked on seeing.

Wise parents will accept the facts regarding Nick Jr. and this is unlikely to change at all unless a large scale advertising boycott, complaints to the FCC, and large viral campaigns begin to bring attention to what is happening to one of the very few programs on children’s television.

It is certainly argued that kids should be in bed at a certain time and parents should read to their kids and take them away from the tube of books. The argument holds merit and is considered with great thought. But tell this boy who is watching in California or in different time zones, or having a hard time fall asleep, or is he sick, Is he trained at home, or does he live in a house where all these things are to be taken care of?

With a nearly 75% drop in ratings compared to October 2011, Viacom saw no issues with the rapid decline in viewership, actually doubling down on Nickmom, saying, “People flocked to it. , time It takes people to accept change.

If you ever need clarity as to where all this is going, just read those words.

Not only is MTV Networks throwing salt in the wounds of millions of kids, but they are also announcing that they will increase stand-up, content and original programming for adult moms in 2013 as more programs are in production for the new year that will block Nickmom< /i> will extend up to over 6 hours.

How can the network honchos actually do anything to make everyone happy? Doing something quite simple. Nickmom can move to their parent channel Nickelodeon and run a log on that channel when they connect to the older and older version and has a young adult night crowd and west coast feeds so that programming issues can be accommodated in different time zones. Returning there, Nick Ir. to full time 24/7/365 status.

The ball remains in the court of both viewers and those at MTV Networks, where it goes from here. Either the network caves to boycotts and losses of viewers and sponsors to kill the concept or they simply move the programming to their main networks.

From the idea that went from The N to Noggin to Nick Jr now to Nick Jr./Nickmom … nothing can change it. Just ask the old mascotsMoose and Zee who suddenly disappeared from the channel at the beginning of Spring this year. With no explanation or response from the network, the two incredibly popular icons of the channel suddenly left, leaving the kids speechless…again…as parents are today…again with Nickmom.

Only when the ratings and ads drop during the day will they feel the parent’s pain and do the right thing.

But if history is our teacher…we know how this fight will end.
