There is no doubt that the city of New York is the greatest in the world and in personal favor. You know when you’re traveling somewhere for a few days and around the middle of your vacation, you feel like you’ve seen everything the city has to offer? New York is the opposite of that. Every time I visit, I always feel like I see more.
If you are going to Vienna for the first time, there are must-do tourist things for you. With City Pass (http://www.citypass.com/city/ny.html) you can see all of these relatively cheap. For just $65, you get access to some of the city’s tourist attractions. The Empire State Building, for example, when they’re stuck in the city, that’s what most people like. With the City Pass, you can also take the Circle Line with a sightseeing boat tour around Manhattan. It takes you from the Wall Street area to the Statue of Liberty, while learning interesting information about the buildings and bridges you pass along the way.
If you like museums, New York City is the place to go. With the City Pass you get access to the city’s most famous and world famous museums Museum of Modern ArtAmerican and modern art. You could easily spend a day at The Met. The smallest country is like this.
So you went to the Empire State Building, went to four museums and took a boat around Manhattan, all for $65. What now? You can keep it cheap by visiting iconic parts of New York without spending a dime other than maybe a subway fare. You can see the Square, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, Ground Zero, Trump Tower, Little Italy and Chinatown all for free. If you have an extra hour or so and come at the right time of year, you can enjoy a little ice skating at Plaza Rockefeller for about $20 . If you like shopping, whether you want to buy something or not, you can shop in some of the best thrift storesshop a> in the world. An 8-story Macy’s? I want to fail thinking.
If you enjoy touring, the city has tons of fun little tours. Some of the most talked about and recommended tours are the NBC Studio Tour and the Sex and the City Tour. At NBC, you can catch a little TV history while checking out some of the studios where your favorite shows like SNL are filmed. The Six and the City tour takes you around the city to some of the spots featured in the show, like Magnolia Bakery.
If you have extra money, while on vacation, you can even catch a Broadway play or two. And if you want to save on tickets, you can buy day of performance tickets for up to 50% at the TKTS shops on the Square or at noon on the beach. If you want to enjoy the nightlife of the city, you can go almost anywhere for a few drinks and stay all night. And if you still have some time to kill, you can stroll through Central Park. Maybe even check out Central Park Zoo and you’ll see penguins and polar bears in the middle of Manhattan.
And, hunger! I didn’t even mention the food! It is said that if you lived in Manhattan for a year, you could get food at a different place every day. That gives you a good variety of cuisine you can expect when you visit the Big Apple.
New York has it all and there is everything to experience. What are you waiting for?
