Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that provides quality meals senior and disabled citizens. Volunteers take food to these citizens and provide them with assistance if a patron helps them cut the meals. Volunteers can also prepare food, clean and occasionally do data entry. If you can commit to a long-term position, you can become a trained counselor for some women. Sunnyvale Community Services has several volunteer opportunities available. If you want to knit, crochet and do other non-woven things, then you’ll want to sign up with SCS Helpers. Volunteers for People’s Bag SCS give a bag of food every month to needy families and senior citizens. Lobby administrators provide information about Sunnyvale community programs, refer and refer families to programs. Hotel collectors collect hotel soaps/shampoos/etc while on vacation giving to the homeless. Community Christmas Center volunteers give families a two-week supply of food and new gifts for Christmas. Food/Donation Drive volunteers work with a school/church/or other group to raise food and donations for Sunnyvale Community Services.
