When I found out that Walgreen’s was moving in our meeting, I was so excited! I have heard many good things about the company over the years and look forward to using their products to find great things to do. I knew the monthly discount, which is a big plus for someone like me who is looking for such things. Over the years I’ve heard some moans and groans about how it often started with merchandise or sales, but I didn’t think much of it. We got it at Walgreen’s and I couldn’t wait!
I’m odd, I know. I am one of those “coupon queens” who sometimes read about it. I am one of those people who get grocery bags and purses behavior. It used to be a hobby, but when the economy is tight and work is harder to come by, I think of it as a tool for survival. It helps us to provide the things we need to live and even sometimes buy some means to make life more pleasant I admit that I am now obsessed. I could win the lottery tomorrow and still use the coupon to get free tomorrow evening. I can’t imagine living my life any other way.
So I pay attention to the online “savings” group and when I heard about the upcoming Walvirides Olay Olay smegma deal, I gathered my bags and got ready to tents as soon as the store opens on Sunday morning. For I was the second person in the store. I went to the first old man whom I was freed to see. Vitamin gallery. There is no one for me!
It sounded like an amazing deal. Oil of Olay 2-pack soaps sold for 2/$4 and when you bought 2/$, a promo for $4 off your next purchase, wanted to print the payment order at the end of the transaction. It got even sweeter because I got a stack of $2 off any Olay product, so the free soap would be pure profit, $4 at a time. Catalina decided to use the rewards to buy diapers and several other things that I knew we would need this month.
So I find where the soap should be and there are exactly two packets in the whole set. Remember that I am the first buyer to look for them when the doors are opened on the first day of sale . Somewhere in the back of my memory comes a groan and a groan I remember hearing before I opened my first Walgreen’s and I know exactly how the other customers felt.
Maybe another customer will come in this week, but when I read the savings boards this morning, I noticed that there are a lot of complaints about this promotion. Some stores were like mine and didn’t have any stock, others had stock, but not printing ligulas as they are supposed to.
The Walgreen’s ads created a buzz on the internet and who knows how many thousands of people got into their stores this morning, they weren’t ready for the promotion. I’m sure many of them still bought something “while they were there”. I can’t help but think that Walgreen’s really cleaned up with this one!
