There are so many places to visit and places to see in Cleveland, but sometimes you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Often a change of scenery is what is needed. Taking Friday and/or Monday off can make for a long weekend and a great opportunity to get away from it all. You don’t need to go through the hassle of making airline reservations or rail scheduling, just jump in your car and head to one of these destinations. All of these are a few hours drive from Cleveland.
Genus Get-Aways
Cincinnati, Ohio – There is something to do in Cincinnati for the whole family. I recommend that you live in the city because there are so many sites in and around the town area. Sometimes you can get great rates at the Hyatt downtown or West Cincinnati. Things to do include shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue, visiting the Cincinnati Zoo (rated by Zagat as one of the top 5 zoos in the nation), the Newport Aquarium (just across the bridge from downtown) and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (a great educational stop for the whole family).
Butler, Pennsylvania – Just at Conley’s Golf and Resort outside of Pittsburgh, you can golf all day while the kids and mom enjoy the resort’s waterparks. Conley Golf Course is a favorite of Pittsburgh residents. The resort package includes overnight accommodations, lunch and unlimited golfing with cart. The small water is somewhat small, but the kids will love it. Two water slides, pirate ship, sauna and hot tub can be enjoyed, the family can meet again. to lunch

Visit the Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Museum of Art and Columbus College of Art & I plan. Spend the next day on/around the Ohio State campus. There you can visit the Wexner Center for the Arts and the Jack Nicklaus Museum (if you are interested in golf). Other attractions include the Kathryn Gallery, Columbus Zoo and the Aquarium and Hall of Fame Museum.
