There are many places to rent movies in the Leavenworth area but what are the best selections and deals? With three different bands to choose from and one private set there is plenty for everyone. The three major chains offer a lot of good choices and always have good stock. While some privately owned stores have hard to find movies and some unknown movies, private stores usually have some good movies that are hard to find.
So what movie theaters does Leavenworth have to offer the movie fanatic? There are three major chains, Blockbuster Video, Movie Gallery, and Hollywood Video, and then Gator Video is a small privately owned movie store. which works in Leavenworth. You have many choices, so which one is the best bang for your buck? It all depends on the things you have and if you pay enough attention to do good things.
The best store, in my opinion, is Blockbuster, but only if you join the rewards program. These programs have always been stupid and a waste of money, but this is a great program and you get something great with it. This program is only ten dollars to sign up, but they give you a free movie night sign up and a free movie coupon, so you really only pay two dollars. Other perks of the program are every 5 movies you get a free rental, also Monday through Thursday if you release a new release you get a free rental.
They’ll also send you a free monthly email, and if you sign up for a free email list, they’ll add it to your inbox from time to time. All of this is a great one time ten dollar fee, and I highly recommend it to anyone who rents a lot of movies. One downside is that Blockbuster in Leavenworth does not adhere to the late fee policy; They rejected the idea of late fees and returned.
I like Blockbuster’s website they have a lot of good stuff on the site when you search so you can find all the movies you love and a list of new releases and new movies on DVD so you know when the movie you are looking for. They also have an online streaming option, where you sign up for one of their plans, and pick the movies you want, and they’ll stream them to you, and then you can stream them whenever they happen. They have three different plans that you can choose from, 1 movie for 9.99, 2 movies for 14.99, or three movies for 17.99. The best part of these deals is that you also get free in-store coupons once a week, so you can run through your local Blockbuster and snag a free movie once a week.
Hollywood Video another store with some decent rental promotions at their store. First, they offer members a free rental on their birthday, that is, to anyone who has a rental card, they send you a coupon. Also keep an eye out for kitchens that email you, they will often send you a block of 899 cents.
They also have a movie pass program where you pay a monthly fee and then you can stream all the movies you want in a month. There are three different options you can choose, the basic program that runs 14.99 and allows three movies at a time, the catch is you can only save them for 5 days and only on the shelf you can choose movies, mostly new releases but not all. Then you have the premium pass which has two different options one is $24.99 where you can save two movies at one time and have no limit on how long you can save them and you can have any movies available. Alternatively, you can choose a premium pass where you can get three movies at a time for $29.99 again with no matching times, and access to all the movies in the store.
Not as good a deal as Blockbuster, but still if you rent a lot of movie night then the monthly plan is fine. great idea, I also like that you can sign no contracts, you can enter and leave whenever you want, and you can sign at any store. The one thing I don’t like about the program is that it doesn’t include games, they are extra. They also don’t have online rental programs; They will probably have one soon to be included with Blockbuster.
The movie theater has some ok promotions as well which surprises me, if you sign up for a new membership they will give you your first free trial. They have a rate one free promotion that just sounds like pay three movies or games and get the fourth free. They also have what they call a Reel Players promotion where you earn points based on what you know, once you accumulate enough points you get a free rental. Twelve points will be earned for either a $3 dollar advance movie purchase or a free rental. Earning points are redeemed as follows: movie or game – full price (1 point), movie or game – discounted (1/2 point), rental price (1 point), new movie or game purchase (1 point), and pre-played or game (2 points).
They also have a promise that if you don’t like your rental then you get your next rental for free. All you have to do is tell the partner why you didn’t make it to the movie and they’ll give you a coupon for your next visit. The catch is that each account is limited to 6 of these coupons per year. Their latest offer is a pre-game value plan where if you buy two pre-release games or movies you get the third one free. All of these are ok deals, nothing too special but hey they are looking for some good stuff in a smaller amount. I like their actions in the pre-movies and the games played, they seem to have some good buyers.
Gator Video doesn’t have any monthly rental plans or promotions, they don’t have free rentals on birthdays, but they do have some hard to find titles. They are also willing to get the movies you want and will take care of your every need if you ask for help. Since they’re small, they don’t have any special sales or anything like that, and you’ll normally stay out of this place unless you’re looking for a movie you can’t find anywhere else.
