I always knew that Prescriptive’s foundations are really good, but for some reason, I never got around to trying it until just recently. I have been experimenting with so many different mineral makeup products, and I just hated how they made my skin really dry and so unnatural. So, I finally figured out that I need a liquid foundation because my flakes were getting terrible, and I chose the Prescriptive’s Flawless Skin.
I don’t always like to spend that much money on makeup because well, you are going to take it off at the end of the day. But, I think the foundation is really something that is worth the money that you spend on it. The high price tag does not always mean that it is good but it means that they used better ingredients and better ingredients most of the times equal more natural looking makeup. So, what I am trying to say is that even though this may be expensive, it is worth the money.
When I first got this and put some on the back of my hand to apply it with my foundation brush, I was so scared that it was too yellow for my skin. I have a yellow base and did not know anything could be more yellow than this. Besides, I used vellum, and the website showed it as a more light beige color than yellow. But, it looks perfect on my NC 25 skin tone. My favorite part has to be the blending part because I usually see a very visible line where the foundation ends and my bare skin is, but it was completely invisible. I loved it.
One thing that I did not like was that it was a bit drying. It does not pull your skin but since it is oil-free, it does not add any more moisture, which most foundation do not. So, if you have dry skin, this will not fit your skin. But, even when I had a bit of flakes, this did not make the dry flakes more visible, but same as other skin. So, if you have combination skin where some parts are dry, this would be fine. And for normal to oily people, you know this will be great for you.
The coverage is great. It gives a medium to full coverage and it is definitely buildable. It did not look cakey on the spots where I layered the foundation for more coverage. On the spots that I had a cystic acne, this did not cover it perfectly, but on the places where I had light blemishes, this covered it almost perfectly. And it covered my dark circles very well, maybe because of the very yellow base of this product. I did not need an extra concealer for my dark circles, but I would say you still need a concealer, just considerably less.
This did not have any noticeable scent and it has SPF 15. So, this is all around good foundation. If this was a bit cheaper, I would love to use this as an everyday foundation, but because the price is a bit steep, $39.50 for 1oz., I have to save this for my special days. But, I definitely recommend this.
