My first experience with drill sergeant was very memorable as it is with anyone who joins the military. I was just about to skip the bus to Ft. Oed, I cried and was forced to do push ups before my feet hit the ground outside the bus. Although I developed a deep dislike for them, I really appreciated the effort they put into preparing me for military service.
Drill Instructors (Drill Instructors) are different types of people. They are non-commissioned officers who are responsible for training and preparing new recruits for military life. They do it in any way and as much as possible. Although they take their job very seriously, it is not unusual for a recruit to respond with a joke. The basic survival trick is to do everything you are told and practice seriously. But good humor is also important for survival.
Many recruits think of Drill Instructors as government bullies. That is far from the truth. they love the job and they love the service. Human beings are equal and then individuals. To be a Drill Instructor, a person must go to Drill Instructor school. Each branch of the ministry has its own school. The reason is that each branch has different objectives when it comes to establishing a certain type of service.
However, the training instructors have the same qualities. They are addicted to doctrine, to behavior, to conformity, to discipline, and to the concept of the chain of commandment. Their main purpose is to shape the citizens into military personnel, by destroying the individual and rebuilding it to what is required of the military. Everything that the student goes through, the training of the teacher will be lost first. In addition to these military skills, the trainer must act as a counselor, coach, evaluator and role model for all trainees.
TRAINING Instructors make and break people. They put so much effort into each individual that they think they can do, those brand new developing characters. Lazy, egotistical, head cases, and mommas of boys are developed in fighting singles. Individuals who can lead by example. Details that can happen in the heat of battle. Each would give his life for his team and his country.
Not all people qualify for Drill Instructors School. Testing and demand are very high. The individual who first fails is only given one more by chance. if they have not appeared, they are outside. The test for Training Instructors is very high. When it comes to many individual lives to fight, it must be.
A practicing instructor must learn various methods of instruction. They learn everything from closing calls to proper weapon cleaning and maintenance. They must know different formations and be able to use them affectively. They must also know squad and squad drills and when to carry them out. At the end of each exercise, they should evaluate their effectiveness for the day. Do they have to do remedial work with trainees? Do trainees learn the basics enough to survive in a life and death situation? These are the questions that every Training Instructor asks himself before retiring for the evening.
The teachers don’t get much time off their training while they’re away. They have to be up early in the morning, clean shaven, dressed and ready to advance the team. they have the appearance that they have never slept; They prepare their forces and prepare themselves.
I will never forget my drill sergeant. He was strict, but considerate. He emphasized on team work. Most of all the strong help the weak and the weak are saved by the strong. that is the military life. To everyone who made it through Basic Training, each one of us is grateful for the hard work these people put in. We all have memories and even dreams still in the exercise of our Master coming to our face. We still respect and respond the same now as we did then. “Yes, sergeant training.”
