The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the exhibition “Bones in the Attic, Life in the Hall: 100 Years of Medical Education at UW-Madison.” The public is invited to help celebrate the anniversary with a reception on November 29th th from 3:30-8pm.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is recognized nationally and internationally as one of the best medical education institutions. The school has had success and difficulties in more than one hundred years of its existence as it has developed into the faculty it is today.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health started with only eight students, a basic science in learning science. a two-year program taught by a faculty member on loan from the College of Letters and Sciences.
The school now The school offers several programs that allow students to obtain degrees in several medical areas in order to achieve the profession of their choice. Graduates are offered in bimolecular chemistry, World War I and II, difficulties in the construction of the Wisconsin General Hospital. There have been problems getting legislators to support the two-year and then four-year medical program and turf wars.
“Bones in the Attic, Life in the Atrium” show the details of medicine‘s journey from the beginning to the present. They display documents, photographs, and other memorabilia. The exhibit will be featured in the Historical Reading Room, on the third floor of the Ebling Library, as well as in the third-area gallery.
The images appearing in the exhibition will be rotated to show as many images as possible during the exhibition, as useful as a single exhibition.
On November 29 th, the public is invited to an exhibit opening reception, which will take place from 3:30-8 pm in the Historic Reading Room, located on the third floor of the Ebling Library. The exhibit will run from November 29, 2007, through June 30, 2008.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 11:45pm, Friday from 7:30am to 5:45pm, Saturday from 10am to 5:45pm, and Sunday from 10am to 11:45pm.
