Airborne Health Inc. reached a $23.3 million settlement in a class action lawsuit against the company. The lawsuit alleges that the company committed false advertising by suggesting that the product excludes common cold.
According to those who organize class action lawsuits, there is no credible data to support the idea that cold weather prevents the Airborne. But the labels say they are nothing more than deceptively marketed vitamins.
Airborne was developed by second grade teacher, Victoria Knight-McDowell, who was tired of getting sick from students. She didn’t have solid medical experience, and unfortunately she didn’t do any clinical work with those suffering from it.
I was just a fan of Airborne until rumors started attacking his credibility. I always take it before the holidays and every time I work out it’s cold. At the time, I was convinced that it was a miracle drug, but now I’m not so sure.
Whenever I felt cold symptoms popping up, I would always include a pipe in the Airborne tables. After pouring myself a glass of water, I dropped the tablet into the glass and waited. to dissolve Then I weighed my head, and drank the bitter drink until it was no more.
Airborne never provided a momentary remedy for my cold, but taking it always seemed to relieve my symptoms. However, in many clinical trials, some people even claim that placebos make them feel better. Health can be nothing else than the mental state of the being.
I believe that after I took a dose of Airborne, it took over my mind and took my mind off the symptoms. In other words, the very act of taking the Airborne board allowed me to relax and go about my normal life. Of course, there was nothing to cure, but for what I thought I could cure, I felt better.
The truth is, with or without Airborne help, my typical colds took 2 or 3 days to stop. He only provided me with supplements to keep my mind balanced, not physical therapy.
Airborne’s invention does not provide the effectiveness that its commercial points hint at a much larger problem that the American public was dealing with. The drug itself is completely out of control. Companies cannot retract their claims, and consumers buy products under the assumption that the company’s statements are true. Without fail, evidence emerges that the drug does not serve the purpose the company claims and, even worse, can cause serious harm to anyone who takes it. The company responsible for drug distribution and marketing is then given a slap on the wrist by the government, and they go about their business.
Consumers need to do their research before taking any medication. Drug companies are spending record amounts on advertising in hopes that you will buy the product. The sad truth is that it’s only about profits, not about your health.
