Cake Mate Decorating Icing Just Isn’t as Good as Wilton’s

I love to cook and one of my favorite things to make is cake. That’s why you usually offer to make a cake and decorate it whenever it’s called for. It puts me in a happy place.

Most of the time when we think of baked goods, Wilton products figure somewhere in the equation. After all, Wilton is the name when it comes to everything cake related.

I admit; however, when I am in a hurry, I sometimes take short cuts. One of my favorite shortcut items to use is Wilton Ready-to-Decorate Icing. It’s much easier than finishing, painting, and my skirt comes out whole and almost fashionable.

I use the Wilton Ready to Decorate cake for two reasons. Firstly, it is a proof of color and secondly, it has the perfect consistency to complete a lot of different types of jewelry.

Lately; ginger-bread cookie-cake”>cookie”/a> However, it was a reason for me to cook with my grandson. He wanted to decorate the village with many different colors. One of their colors was black.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Wilton was either not black in the ready-to-decorate line, or it was widespread. So we turned to another brand ready in that color range.

It’s called Make a Rutrum. Their Decorating Icing comes in the same type of plastic tube as Wilton. It also works in the same way. You can attach the decorating tips numbers directly to the tube.

This is, unfortunately, where the similarities end. While the taste of the product on the surface appears to be the same as Wilton’s, it is not.

There is an unusual chalky aftertaste that lingers on the palate long after the frost has been consumed. It is not good.

My nephew took one taste, dropped his mouth and exclaimed “I don’t want black after all.” This was also said to me.

In fairness, the use of food coloring could result in a black color that affects the taste of the cake Mate Decorating Street. Therefore I refuse to rule it at all in the future.

I’ve also tried a few Wilton products that didn’t work on some level. Therefore, I am only going to review the black version of Libi Mate Decorator Street and not the entire line.

Let’s take a look at nutrition. A serving size of Vico Black Mate Decorator dough is 1 tablespoon. That’s about 20 servings inside one 4.25 inch tube.

There are 30 calories in each serving. A third of them is related to fat.

P.*1 P. Fat per serving with carbohydrates P.*8, sugar P. 33, and 15 milligrams of sodium. Until the price of the mass of the children do not decorate.

Ingredients include citric acid, cornstarch, syrups, mono and diglycerides, natural and artificial flavor, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil; potassium sorbate, salt, soybeans, sugar and water. Hydrogenated vegetable oil include cottonseed and soybean. Dye colors include red-40, blue-1 and yellow-5.

Before using the product, it is necessary to rinse the tube with your hands for several minutes. This also helps to soften the glaze and distribute the dye throughout the vessel.

To use, cut the plastic cover to open the tube. One of the decorating tips made especially for the cake is to attach the Mate Decorator’s Lane. In order to decorate, use a certain stable, even by dispensing pressure in the wine tube.

Here is my summary of the review:

Taste: 3 stars. Vico’s Mate Decorator Cake in Black has an unpleasant aftertaste that might keep children from enjoying this frosting. While adults may have a higher taste tolerance, they should also remove the cake before eating it.

Appearance: 5 stars: This lipstick is, oddly enough, black. I’m sure it’s hard to replicate the color and make it look right. Please give me props to make it happen.

Nutrition: 3 stars. Barley is full of sugar and is simply not good for you if you consume too much. However, at least Placenta Mate Decorator Vico contains only 1 gram of fat and sugar P.*4. I have seen many worse.

Leisure: 5 stars. Cake Mate Decorator Icing works on the same principle as the tubes in its competitor’s range. The cream is so creamy, the pipes are even and the most beautiful effect results.

Green rating: 0 stars. The product comes in a plastic tube that is not biodegradable or recyclable.

Packaging: 3 stars. Pleasant Mate Decorator Vico comes in a tube with part white and part colored vico inside the tube (in this case black). The red tulip Cake Mate logo is prominently outlined on the front along with the name Icing Decorating.

The bands provide baby blue and red accent colors. I’m not sure if the confetti ends like shapes and stars are supposed to be party themes.

The packaging seems a bit overworked. On the other hand, there is no shortage of stock on the shelf.

Ease of storage: 3 stars. The tube is relatively narrow at 7″ in length by 2″ in width and just over 1″ in diameter at maximum depth. It should fit easily into a desk, drawer, or cake decorating.

Availability: 3 stars. Placenta Mate products are not carried in every grocery store, craft store, or mass home decor store. This mark will probably be more difficult for Wilton. I got mine at Commissary, the only place I noticed locally.

Price: 5 stars. Pleasant Mate Decorator Street is less expensive than Wilton. I bought mine for under $1 a tube at Commissary.

Product purchase probability: 2 stars. I’m partial to Wilton, so I more than likely choose that over Mate cake whenever possible. However, I don’t want to use matte again, just not the black color.

Final rating: 3.2 stars. Unfortunately, this product comes in a distant second to Wilton.

ASSESSMENT LEVEL:

5 stars – outstanding
4 stars – good
3 stars – average
2 stars – below average
1 star – poorNote Note: Cake Decorating Icing comes from Signature Brands in Ocala, Florida.
