When it comes to eating food these days there are so many choices and so much suffering. I’ve tried more Chinese restaurant food in my life than a dozen people combined, but I’ve tried to find all the best. And let me assure you that I have been deceived by many. This is until the first time I ate food from China Wok in Winder, Georgia. Only on that day were all my expectations met.
At first glance this Chinese Food restaurant doesn’t seem like much, but looks can be very deceiving. A place in the mall between a nail salon and a fashion store that doesn’t look like they’re attracting a lot of business. The China Wok itself is in a small space. There are only three tables that seat four each, but it’s about how much food to enjoy. The restaurants are always clean and never have low foodhealth, which is the most important thing to know when eating at any place that serves food . Don’t be fooled by the looks of China Wok from the outside, the cuisine is excellent and the service is by far the best I’ve had at any Chinese food restaurant years
There are many dishes that China Wok makes excellent, however I would recommend that you order a bowl of egg drop soup. Words cannot describe how delicious it is. I have never had anything else that compares to them. The same goes for shrimp rolls. If I didn’t know any better, I would think that each hand was involved in achieving its perfection. And if you like their shrimp rolling, then your mouth rolls like seeing their spring water. It literally melts in your mouth. I was pleasantly surprised at first, tried one, and have been addicted ever since.
Enough about Chinese Wok sides and appetizers, let me get to the combination dishes and lunches and dinners that are to die for. My first favorite by far is their Sweet and Sour pork with a side of pork friend rice. I know you don’t believe this but until you’ve tasted pork fried rice you won’t believe it. it is. It’s unlike any other pork fried rice Jasmine has ever seen before. The pork is so sweet and sour. My second favorite is their sesame seed chicken, there are no words for how good it tastes. Your taste buds will thank you for hours and hours. As they will, when you command the ribs, I will go out. I’ve had friends from Atlanta just come to China Wok to order a plate of their bone-in ribs, that’s how good they are.
So the next time you have Chinese food in mind, think about what I said about China Wok and how Chinese food is supposed to taste. And if yours is in the Winder Georgia or Barrow County area, stop and get food. It usually hurts. Their location is on East May 39th Street
