Homemade Dog Food Recipes

I am a dog lover and owner of several dogs. My mom usually eats store bought dog food because I don’t have time to cook for them every day. But cook them special dog food from time to time, especially when one of them is not feeling well and turns his nose to chow regularly. The first recipe I will share with you is one that all my dogs love. This arose because my Beagle had an upset stomach and wouldn’t eat. Generally, dogs are not picky eaters like cats can be. But if your dog doesn’t feel the same, he can easily deviate from the usual food.

Turkey and Vegetable Mix
I use two pounds of ground turkey and a bag of chopped mixed vegetables. I chose turkey because it is easier to digest than beef. (Using fresh veggies is actually a better idea because they have more minerals and vitamins in them.) This made a meal a day for my little Beagle. How much you will need depends on the size of your dog. You can always make a big pot of this recipe, then refrigerate the leftovers. You can refrigerate leftovers for up to a week. Then, for his next meal, I take out only the desired amount of bread, until the fermentation is just as it should be.

Place the ground turkey and vegetables in a large pot with a little water. Cook on the stove over medium heat. The second healthy, homemade recipe is what I call the “Delightful Liver Plan.” I use the word “enjoy” because I hate liver, but my dogs love this food. You can find both beef and chicken tenderloins at your local grocery store in the meat department. They are always cheap to buy.

All I do is cook some beef or chicken game in a pan of water on the stove. I usually cook two to four pounds at a time. Cook them until they are thoroughly cooked and tender. Then especially drain the water. Stir in a cup or two of steam, diced vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, green beans, and so on. then wake up in some smile. Serve hot to your dog and refrigerate leftovers for up to a week.

Mix some homemade-food into your regular meal. Add a little more of the new food and use less of the regular food at each meal until the transition is complete.
