How to Write a Sales Resume

Writing a curriculum vitae or resume is an art. Anybody can write a resume, it does not require any science and technology. It is very simple. But one thing you should keep in mind when you write a resume is that you resume is what is going to speak for you. Every company will scrutinize its candidates based on the curriculum vitae. Hence your resume should tell what you are. For example if you are writing a sales resume then, you should keep the following points in mind.
– The objective of a sales resume should be really aggressive and striving. The objective which is usually with what you start your resume should show your employer that you are a go getter. This is the key factor in marketing.

– The next thing you need to keep in mind is always elaborate on the key skills. The experience you have in that stream. Do not just write them in a single point stating the number of years of experience you have, instead if you give a clear picture of your skills, so that the employer can check whether your profile matches with the one he is looking for.

– You have an advantage if you are a sales person, which is you can put your achievements in numbers. You can write about the number of units sold by you, the number of targets you have met within the given time and so on.

– Please mention about your interest in working in teams. Because sales targets can usually be achieved when worked in teams, where new strategies can be tried and tested.

– One thing which employers usually expect is something called meeting their requirements beyond expectations. Employers usually find candidates who do their job. They do what has to be done. If you want them to sell hundred units they will definitely sell them. But this is not what the employers want, they want a little more. Your resume should prove to the employer that you are the kind who does not hesitate to take that extra mile.

– Do mention the name of your previous company, with the number of years you served in that company. What was your role?

– Also mention the number of languages you are familiar with, because when it comes to sales, customers are of various kinds and come from different geographical locations, hence the more languages you know an extra feather in your cap.

– Do not forget, to give your personal information in brief. Like your date of birth, your marital status, hobbies and others.

– Make sure that there are no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors in your resume. Usually, once the print your resume and if you find a spelling mistake or grammatical error, people tend to overlook it, and do not bother to take another corrected copy, thinking that is not going to make a big difference. But that is not the case. There are even chances, that the employer can reject you even without having a chat with you.Thus, make sure that your resume gives an outline for yourself. Just keep the above points and prepare a resume. You will see the difference yourself.
