Ozark Trail 6 Gallon Water Container

When my husband recently decided to go moose hunting, we ended up purchasing a lot of supplies for his trip. One of the items that was an absolute necessity was a water container. Since he was going to be away from “civilization” for a couple of days, he opted for the Ozark Trail 6 Gallon Water Container. Ozark Trail is an outdoor equipment manufacturer, and they make a fine line of value priced outdoor gear.

This is sold at Walmart stores, and the hang tag actually reads “Marketed by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.”. It is made in Canada. Walmart had two large plastic water bottles, one was square in shape and was quite large. It would have taken up a lot of room in the Argo, so he opted instead for the Ozark Trail 6 Gallon Water Container, which is quite narrow, but tall. It fits nicely onto a four wheeler or Argo, and has some very nice features.

This is an all-purpose water container, and it is made from food approved plastic, which I was thrilled to see. The container has the words BPA Free. BPA stands for Bisphenol A, and has come under fire and is a suspected health threat according to some studies. I prefer to be safe and feel better about drinking from plastics that are free of BPA.

The container is made of clear plastic, and it is very easy to see how much water you have used, and how much you have left. There is a three piece spout system, the cap also doubles as a pouring spout, and this spout really allows you to have accuracy when pouring your water into smaller containers, such as individually sized water bottles.

Ozark Trail 6 Gallon Water Container is made of thick plastic that seems very durable, with a nice generous handle at the top that allows for easy lifting. Of course when this is full of water it is quite heavy, but six gallons of water would be heavy in any container, the Ozark Trail container itself is quite light.

The hang tag that was attached to this water container states that Ozark Trail guarantees it will not “leak or crack under normal use”, and this is backed by a five year warranty. We paid about $11.00 for this water container, which was quite a bit less than other brands in the store. It served its purpose, and I feel it would be a smart choice for campers to use in their tents, motor homes or other recreational vehicles. It is also a nice way to have water on hand if a storm is brewing and you suspect you will be losing your power. Extra water can be used for drinking, cooking, or even flushing your toilet.

Overall, I think this was a smart purchase, and I love that it takes up very little space! I am glad to recommend the Ozark Trail 6 Gallon Water Container.
