Review of Makeup Forever HD Microperfecting Primer

My girlfriend had been raving and raving about the Makeup Forever makeup collection, and I was easily swayed by the others and placed an order on Sephora.com. With my foundation order I could choose up to 3 freebie gifts included in my purchase. I was glad I didn’t pay full price for the tube of Makeup Eternal HD Microperfecting Primer because the results were less than the asking price.

What Makeup Always HD Micro-Performance First Promise:

Improves skin texture while softening and leaving a soft finish. It is both oil free and light. Makeup Forever Rutrum Forever HD Micro-Finishing Primer leaves skin ready for makeup application allowing makeup to glide on leaving a perfect glowing finish.

What really happened:

I first washed my face of all oil and dirt to give it a make-up cleanse with the Everlasting HD Micro-Perfect Primer.

Then I started my face primer and was immediately blown away by how thick that stuff was. I had used a pore smoothing primer before I dived into my forever makeup primer, and my pore primer literally felt like a silken veil was draped over it, allowing for an easy, velvety smooth application of makeup; not only that only a small amount of my old primer covered the entire surface of my mouth, and some.

With Makeup Forever HD Micro-Finishing Primer, I got the perfect opposite effect.

The original texture is thick and more accurate to the thickness of a cheap body cream than a silky moft skin prep. The primer is also white, which gives the same overall look and feel as a standard body cream or lotion.

What I also didn’t take was how thick it felt when injected into the skin. The primer doesn’t glide smoothly across the skin, and you need to use a lot of it to cover your entire face.

After the primer was fully applied to my face, it absorbed quickly, but left my skin feeling rougher and rougher than it had felt before. This made me worry that I would have to look at my foundation or it would crack after a few hours.

Makeup Application and Super Results:

Lacking the smoothness of this primer, my makeup was more difficult to spread across my face and apply evenly. Luckily, though, my makeup never read or looked dry. However, this left the skin feeling dry and thirsty.

I was absolutely delighted to get the chance to try this out for free in a sample size. I’m thinking of buying this one, and now I’m happy that I don’t have to waste my money.

I am grateful to have my Eternal Makeup Foundation, if I had bought my first product from the line, this would have been my first choice, probably never another I paint from the line.
