Rockstar Energy has entered the energy market by launching two flavors of its compact energy mix in shot form. The first thing I noticed about this event was the failure of someone’s name to be released. EgMonster Energy named its shooter “Hitman”. But naming issues aside, he shot it in a 2.5 ounce deep plastic container with a screw cap. The Rockstar logo is lined on the front, the color is either red and black or yellow and black depending on the flavor inside.

Taste:

Energy shots always tasted bitter because of the caffeine content and tasted too sweet because of the artificial sweeteners accumulated inside the mask in the energy raw flavor mixture . Rockstar Energy and Monster followed suit, both slightly bigger hits than their competitors in trying to mask further bitterness.

Rockstar punches come in two flavors: Tropical Punch and Berry Wild. But honestly, they both know the same thing. You could see a slight taste difference if you really focus while you fix it down, but this isn’t a sipping drink so the taste isn’t the focus anyways. It also tastes nothing like Rockstar Original.

The shot was something hard to drink and had a horrible aftertaste. But again this is meant to be taken down quickly in one stroke and not to be enjoyed slowly. I found the flavor to be slightly better than other energy shots on the market; The taste stayed with me for a few seconds, making me grateful that Rockstar added as much flavor and sweetness as possible.

to kick

That really matters. Rockstar claims that there are 200 mg of caffeine per 2.5 ounce shot, which is more caffeine than an 8 ounce serving of Original Rockstar Energy Drink< /a >. There is also a list of measures of B-vitamins, Ginseng, Guarana, and Taurine. It’s basically a full-size Rockstar compact in a small package.

Taste, step back, kick quickly and hit really hard. For those who are not sure how 200 mg of caffeine in one drink will affect them, I recommend drinking half now and half later. I felt a little hyper but it was clear that there was no buzzing and no crash. I felt a bit jumpy at first, but this settled down and I felt alert and awake.

Overall:

It costs more than a can from Rockstar, but at about the same price as other energy shots. It is also bigger in size than the big name energy shot like 5 hour power making it a decent power.

Unlike some of Rockstar’s full size drinks, this shot has no carbs or sugar which is great. Even more caffeine in one gun is more than you do in almost complete Rockstar energy. It’s worth it if you need a quick energy drink but I recommend drinking it ice cold.
