We all want to look our best. Many beauty treatments, products and supplies we use are safe and some can be harmful. Medicines may contain allergens, harsh chemicals and unsafe pigments. Here is a comprehensive list of products, additives and ingredients to look for and avoid when choosing beauty care items. When choosing products, be careful and avoid these additives:

Mineral oil (baby oil) – Mineral oil is used in creams, perfumes and most skin care formulas Softer, guided and protected. Petroleum is a product (see the root of the word oil or gas). Excess mineral oil damages the skin and can cause allergic reactions Mineral oil also prevents pores.

alcohol- Alcohol is an antiseptic and very useful for sanitizing. Because alcohol dries quickly it is often used in lotions, creams, acne and skin care products. Alcohol is often found in products labeled ‘fat’ or ‘non-fat’. But as a skin care product, the arc is very drying and hard on the skin and hair.

talc- Talc is the softest rock. It is used in powders to absorb moisture. Talc cannot breathe well and cause respiratory problems.

petroleum jelly- Again, notice the word ‘petroleum’; petroleum jelly (vaseline) is a fossil product that, like mineral oil, will clog pores.

triclosan- This is commonly used in acne preparations and hand sanitizer. Triclosan is a harsh chemical. If you suffer from acne, benzoyl peroxide is a safer option.

fluoride- Fluoride was added to toothpaste in the mid-1960s to help prevent tooth decay. But our water is also fluoridated. Fluoride is a metal listed on the element chart. Fluoride accumulates in the body’s systems and can cause cellular dysfunction.

Aluminum is the active ingredient in most anti-perspirants and deodorants. Metal is toxic to the system. Look for Adidas 0% aluminum for effective anti-perspirant/deodorant use.

oil, jojoba and almond oil: olive oil is a safe natural guide, softer and for protecting the skin These make the perfect oil lip balm and gloss.

baking soda: baking soda makes a great deodorant/antiperspirant, acne astringent; shoe/foot powder, tooth polish and breath freshener.

salt: Salt makes a great skin scrub, softening the skin and removing calluses. It has anti-septic and disinfectant properties for acne. Mix the salt with the honey to melt the mass.

cider vinegar cider vinegar makes a great astringent. Hair will be soft and shiny. A drink of water mixed with vinegar will clear your system. Cider vinegar is a great anti-oxidant. Then it will soothe the sunburn.

lemon juice: skip toxins in hair color. Spray your hair with lemon juice and sit in the sun until your hair dries. Lemon juice safely and naturally lightens or lightens gold.

nail polish: for nail polish with acrylics, nail polish remover. It will strengthen the nails, prevent them from being pulled off, and block the cuticles. Rub the oil into your nails to protect them.
