Stomach Virus Home Remedies

If you’ve ever had a stomach virus, you probably know that it’s not a very pleasant experience. Making a trip to the doctor is pretty useless, as he or she is just going to say wait it out – there’s nothing that can be done about a stomach virus. Well, this isn’t necessarily the case. There are a number of home remedies that are believed to work for stomach viruses. Here, we’ll explore just a few of the home remedies that you may want to try out for a stomach virus.

Drink Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known to provide a wide variety of health benefits. One of the many things that apple cider vinegar is known to do is help ease nausea. In order to help ease your own nausea by drinking apple cider vinegar, all that you need to do is drink about two tablespoons of it. Since it is known to be a very effective stomach virus home remedy, you should really consider drinking apple cider vinegar, as disgusting as it may taste to you. Drinking it in combination with juice, such as apple juice, may help you get it done easier.

Drink Pepsi and Lemon Juice

You’ve probably heard that it’s a good idea to drink sodas such as Sprite or Ginger Ale when you’re sick. Well, believe it or not, another soda that is known to help take away stomach pain is Pepsi. Although it depends on your own personal preferences, Pepsi is known to more effectively relieve your nausea when it is warm. You also may want to consider adding lemon juice to your Pepsi. The acidity in the lemon juice is known to relieve nausea, mainly because it may kill the virus. If you’ve never tried this stomach virus home remedy, you will want to consider doing so because it’s known to be extremely effective.

Drink Cranberry Juice

Cranberry juice is known to work much the same way that lemon juice does in getting rid of stomach viruses. The reason that it is known to provide nausea relief is because the acidity that it contains kills the virus. However, do keep in mind that in order to experience the most relief for your stomach virus, it’s important to drink straight cranberry juice. Cranberry juice cocktails that contain other fruit juices and sugar additives may not work quite as well – though that’s not to say that they won’t work at all in helping you feel stomach virus relief.

Eat a Can of Peaches

One of the reasons that sodas such as Sprite and 7Up are known to help you feel better when you have a stomach virus is because they contain pretty high amounts of sugar. Although you may not even realize it, you can get the same exact effect from eating a can of peaches or fruit cocktail, as they contain a high amount of sugar as well. Keep in mind that although sugar will provide relief to your stomach virus, it’s not a good idea to eat lots of candy and other high in sugar foods that may actually end up irritating the stomach. Eating a can of peaches is, however, known to be a quite effective home remedy for stomach viruses.

These are just some of the many things that can be done in order to help ease the symptoms that you experience during a stomach virus and, in some cases, even cause the stomach virus to go away on its own. If you have not yet tried any of these stomach virus home remedies, there’s a good chance that you will want to consider doing so.
