The Sky Bar — a Candy from the Past

When I first heard “Sky Bar” I thought it was a bar inside a high rise building. I had never heard that before, and I felt it so much in my mind. But, as explained further in the Food Channel television show I watched, the sky bar was a candy bar that had been really big back in the late 1930’s and into the 1940’s. Produced by the Necco Candy company, it had a place among the elite of the candy world, but it has become more difficult since then, which has caused production to become much smaller than it once was. Now the only way to get these candy bars is to focus on the area near where they are being eaten. East, or order then online from the device stores. They sounded so good to me that I added them to the birthday gift wish list that I had created for myself.

Now I knew that nothing could be reached through the web, and my friend went around searching for them, to my great surprise. Well, when I opened the package from them, it turned out that there were 10 bars neatly arranged in a cardboard box. I was amazed that he could find these things, and he was really surprised, because I had put something out of my mind, and he was very grateful that I could get them back. Sky Bar is simple looking enough with its yellow and red letters written across the bar. At the bottom of the envelope is a picture showing a small pot with its contents. It’s those contents that really make a great white bar.

The originality of the Sky Bar, comes with its 4 different chocolate sections that each contain an extraordinary item. The four distinct flavors are fudge, caramel, peanut and vanilla nougat, which are offered in each bar. So basically you get 4 different parts so you can taste anything different. I think it’s really cool that eating one bar won’t pierce it because you end up with a different handle on each block. That’s one of the biggest draws that got me so interested in Sky Bar in the first place, and I really won myself over the second I started eating them. The flavors do not mix, and they are kept very stable in the walls of the chocolates placed around them. Eating your way through one bar, you’ll then move on to the next one, enjoying every taste as far as it goes. Just getting to eat at each bar is an experience in itself.

The bars are a bit more than you would expect for grocerystores> (Snickers, Milky Way etc. .) but it’s well worth it . You can get 12 of them for about $14.00, and they usually travel well on delivery. They’re only available from September through May anyways, so you don’t have to worry about them getting too warm during any transit stop. Each candy bar weighs 1.5 ounces, and I can tell you from my own taste test, it is simply delicious. Not only tasty, but they think it’s a lot of fun to eat because of the variety of flavors that come from one candy bar. They only have 190 calories in each bar, so you don’t have to worry about that or anything. If you are looking for an interesting treat for yourself, or to impress your friends, this is a great option. I have now bumped them up my list to #1 as my favorite candy bar, and I just had to come rave about them.
